SCDRP 2025 Advisory Board Election

​

The SCDRP 2025 Advisory Board Election is underway!

​

The SCDRP Advisory Board helps to formulate and carry out the strategic direction of the Partnership. Advisory Board members have input on the future of the Partnership, fiscal development, and enhancing connections with related agencies and organizations. There are also opportunities to engage in committees focused on development, partnership, governance, finance, and the annual meeting. The Advisory Board meets monthly to address a packed agenda filled with opportunities to help shape the future of the Partnership.

Nominations are accepted for 3 weeks from September 5 - 26, 2024. 

​

Voting will occur securely and anonymously online for 2 weeks from November 8 - 22, 2024.

​

New Advisory Board Members will be welcomed in December 2024, onboarded in January 2025, and official duties will begin February 1, 2025. An in-person Advisory Board Meeting and Officer Election will occur in Wilmington, North Carolina on February 3, 2025 (prior to the SCDRP 9th Annual Meeting 2025). All other 2025 Advisory Board Meetings will be virtual on the 1st Thursday of each month.

Each Advisory Board seat has a term of three years. 

​

All nominees to the Advisory Board are expected to: 

 

  • Have professional experience in community resilience, natural disaster recovery, emergency management, and/or climate mitigation and adaptation

  • Commit to a 3-year term

  • Have a professional address in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.

 

The seven Open Seats for which nominations are currently being accepted:


State of Florida (1 seat open)

  • To be eligible for a state/territory seat, the nominated member shall be a public-sector, career professional for the state/territory government for which the candidate is nominated.

Puerto Rico (1 seat open)

  • To be eligible for a state/territory seat, the nominated member shall be a public-sector, career professional for the state/territory government for which the candidate is nominated.

​

Non-profit Organization (1 seat open)

  • To be eligible for the nonprofit seat, the nominated member shall be professional staff for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

​

Local Government (1 seat open)

  • To be eligible for a local government seat, the nominated member shall be a public-sector, career professional for a county, sub-state regional, or municipal government for which the candidate is nominated.

​

Federal Government (1 seat open)

  • To be eligible for a federal government seat, the nominated member shall be a public-sector, career professional employed by or contracted long-term by the federal government for which the candidate is nominated.

​

Academic Institution (2 seats open)

  • To be eligible for an academic seat, the nominated member shall be directly affiliated with a college, university, or a consortium of such.  This includes career professionals, post-docs, and fellows.

All nominees and nominators are required to be current SCDRP Members in Good Standing (with annual dues current). You can nominate yourself. To confirm membership status of yourself and others, please check the SCDRP Member Directory. For more guidance, please reference the “Member Directory” page on the SCDRP website.

All nominees will be reviewed by the SCDRP Nominations Committee and approved by the current SCDRP Advisory Board Members (those not seeking re-election) prior to placement on the ballot.

​

Please submit a brief biography (around 250 words), statement of interest, and headshot for each nominee by close of nominations on 11:59 PM, Thursday, September 26th to scdrp@secoora.org
